Hi robe414 and welcome to the WTT forums
Sorry to hear of the problem with your machine. I see that you have posted for assistance in the Infection Removal forum, http://forums.whatthetech.com/window_polic...265#entry604265 A malware fighter will respond to your topic in the Infection Removal forum as soon as possible. Just a tip for you....it's important you don't send a "follow up" message to the Infection Removal topic as the malware fighters there look for topics to answer first that have zero responses..... Regards paws |

hi robe414,
You should note down the error message on the blue screen, it could be that it's faulty memory etc. I've not seen a virus that causes a blue screen (that i remember). If you can, re-seat your memory(Ram) and see if this helps cure the initial problem of the blue screen. 'Bob |

Bob.
Apparently you haven't bumped into a nasty boot-sector virus? It happens. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103/en-us _________________________________________ robe414 You've already received the best instruction from the post by Paws. Get yourself over to our Infections Removal forum. And even though you might be tempted to persist in efforts to clean this machine by yourself, I'd advise against that plan. If infected by a boot-sector Virus, other malware could easily have tumbled in at the same time or subsequently. Don't be using the machine for online work at all, and don't access any online business or banking until you get an "all clear" from your Malware Removal Specialist, who will help you in WTT Infections Removal. Best Regards |
