---Issue resolved. Earthink DNS server was not allowing a few site through. Probably no need to check the HijackThis log -- all scans that I ran were clean. ---Thank you, Phyllis Hello, Anything that looks like a problem? Since yesterday afternoon, three websites that I've used for years won't open -- the message window says... check internet connection, and that the attempt to connect timed out. I've called tech service at two of them, with no results from so far. One is sunbelt-software.com, and as of now their Level I support seems to be out of basic ideas to check on. Things I've done so far --- Downloaded and run SpyBot Search and Destroy -- no results found. --- Run CounterSpy -- no results found. BTW it's been run and updated everyday for several years now. Their support asked me to deinstall it, and without being able to get onto their website, can't reload it now. --- Run AVG free antivirus -- no results found --- Various basic things, like delete history, files, etc. --- Downloaded and ran another checker or two found on this site, no results, have uninstalled them already.... whatever they were. Nothing out of usual when problem started, except one of the Microsoft updates, for Net Frame 2.0, failed to install repeatedly. It finally went through a couple hours ago, after I deleted all of Adobe Reader versions.... may be may not be related. Saw one of Tallin's posts about Adobe, looking at Foxit as a PDF reader, and yeah! that Adobe updater has gobbled up my CPU several times now before it got sorted out. (Thanks, Tallin) Clueless, and smiling still, Phyllis Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 2:29:11 PM, on 3/12/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16608) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgamsvr.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgemc.exe C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software\Personal Firewall\kpf4ss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel Protection Server\WinNT\spnsrvnt.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\snmp.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\MsPMSPSv.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVG7\avgcc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RunDLL32.exe C:\WINDOWS\SOUNDMAN.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\Mxvgautil.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software\Personal Firewall\kpf4gui.exe C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software\Personal Firewall\kpf4gui.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R0 -
