If I click often enough in the screen, that eventually goes away, the files will appear and will play. If I scroll to the next row it freezes again when the files are halfway across the screen and comes up as 'not responding'. I have 3 folders on 1 dvd. 2 of them will open doing this, the 3rd just refuses to do anything. When the dvd is first inserted in the dvd drive a message comes up in the bottom right hand corner: 'InCD: DriveP: will mount for read-only access. You will be able to read them but not write to it.' I have tried to burn them again 3 times but still get the same result. I'm using the Smartstart centre to do it. The CDRom option didn't appear to burn what I thought would be a playable dvd. Perhaps I'm wrong. I'm probably doing something really stupid when burning these, but can't figure out what. Has anyone any ideas, please? Thanks for reading and in advance for any help offered. hedley |

I've not used Nero to burn DVDs, but when long time ago I used it for burning CDs, there was a selection for "Finalize" as the last step selected.
If "finalize" was selected, then it was no longer possible to "add" to that particular "job". That was the case, even if the initial burn consumed only a small portion of the CD blank space. If a "new job" was attempted using the same CD with prior data stored from a previous burn, Nero treated the CD as if it was a fresh blank CD (only smaller that a full blank CD by the amount of MB used in the first job) Subsequently, when attempting to access files on the CD, all appeared, but only the most recent "burn" was available to actually use and display. In contrast.... If "finalize" was not selected as an option in a sequence of burns "AND" the "job" was saved (formating information recorded by Nero during each burn) the user could add new content to the CD until all space was consumed, at which time "finalize" became a "forced choice". Are you noticing anything similar? _________________- You reference INCD That is a function of Nero that enables the use of writeable/eraseable CDs which are "very" different and more expensive. They also do not work well enough for me to have made a practice of using them and they have not caught on generally. I would personally not use INCD and have always disabled it from machines that I have maintained. Since you are probably using a newer version of Nero than I ever used (I think my last one was Nero 6 Ultimate) your options may be different and what I've mentioned above may have little or nothing to do with your experience. You are also burning DVD, and I've only used Nero to burn CDs. Sorry if none of this applies. Best Regards |
