Hi, Sorry to hear of the problems with your machine.
The usual first steps to resolve these issues are: 1 Close down machine, and turn off (not sleep or standby but a proper shutdown 2 Wait 3 minutes, now power up machine, see how you go. If still no joy: 3 In device manager..USB Root hubs remove the tick/checkmark allowing computer to shut down power. 4 (You will need to do this on each root Hub) 5 Ok your way out 6 Close down and wait 30 seconds with a black blank screen (a proper shutdown not sleep or hibernate) 7 Restart your machine and see how you go. 8 if still no joy 9 Make sure no USB components are plugged in and then from device manager uninstall all USB 's close down your computer ( full shutdown) wait 30 sec with blank black screen and restart 10 Windows should now restart, find that USB support is missing and then reinstall the drivers 11 See how you go 12 if still no joy, then you will need to reinstall your motherboard drivers...all of them so download in advance 13 see how you go Regards paws |

remember usb is a shared resource and the total power available is limited to 200ma(?)
people have some success by using a powered hub or switching devices to a pci card This post has been edited by DaChew: Mar 30 2008, 10:11 AM |
