Does not give us much to go on, try to be a little more descriptive when you post, give us an idea where to look. I will be removing some adware, a dead BHO, two nasty hostile Downloaded Programs Files and several DPF's that Google does not recognize or considers of a questionable nature. If any we remove are valid, you will be prompted to download them again. I strongly suggest you avoid the sites coded in red. I will also remove a 014 item place there by aohell to make sure you start on there page.

Open HJT and click on SCAN then check the box in front of these line items. Be careful!

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows then click on "Fix Checked" Empty the recycle bin and restart the computer. Surf a bit then using ADD REPLY, stay in this thread and post a new log, include your coments.

thank you very much for your help pskelley. I apologize for forgetting to tell you what is wrong with my computer. Basically what is going on is that it is extremley slow all of the time especially when starting up. I was just curious if you saw anything that would help me out. I followed your instructions and fixed everything you asked me to. When I went to empty the recycle bin there was nothing there. Also i noticed that there was a backup folder in my HJT folder now. Is it supposed to have all of that stuff in it. It was still very slow when starting up and once it finally started the internet was not much better. Here is the new log after surfing for awhile.

Yes this is normal, HJT makes backups so in the event of an error what is removed can be put back. I run my HJT daily to make sure nothing new is being added. You also should learn how to read the log for your own benefit. A simple Google search for HijackThis will return lots of information. After a few weeks you can delete the contents of the backups if you wish, not taking up much space. You will also see logs you create in there.

You computer is clean of malware so I have done my job. I will try to give you some personal thoughts to see if I can help.

1) I could be wrong, but this looks like an older Gateway that has been updated to WindowsXp. Since you have SP2, did you recently install it and could the slowdown have occured with the update? Many, many folks have this issue, seems SP2 reguires some of your speed and resources. If the computer was not properly prepared for the SP2 download this can also create problems. 2) While time constraints will not allow me to do this for you, you have programs running at startups that are draining your resources and slowing you down. I will show you one and what experts say about it:

I will give you links where you can look at your running programs and anything run in 04's and decide if you really need it. 3) Like for instance: C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

4) If you want to put the work into it, you can streamline startup and run faster. While I do not know how much RAM you have onboard, adding RAM is the cheapest way to upgrade a computer.
