I downloaded, updated and ran Hijackthis. It took forever to figure out how to run it as an administrator, there was no option with a right click. Finally I got it done through control panel>administrative tools>local dick ©> (x86) program files> Trend> Hijackthis>hijackthis.... then I could run as administrator. Is there an easier way to do this?
OK... I am concerned because when I shut down my computer yesterday evening I noticed that the HP light stayed on for about a minute. Then it went off so I went to bed. I got up about 2:30 AM and noticed a flashing light on the side. I opened the laptop and it said to not turn it off because W7 was updating, it was on 4 of 10. So I shut the lid. At 9:00 AM I opened it and it was on 7 of 10, it quickly finished and I rebooted. Then I noticed as it came back on that it did something with what seemed to be a large number of registry files... That concerned me and it was then that I ran Malwarebytes. When I ran Hijackthis I noticed a lot of service files in the registry that have (file missing) at the end.
Do I have a problem? I tried to run Windows Media Player (which is one that says (file missing) and it seems to work) but I am paranoid.
