More than just suspicious...

http://webcache.goog...yware-and-more/

I've been removing this from customer machines for several months now, and raised the concern previously when the Malwarebytes flap was current.

Thanks for the Link, LDT. This is very disturbing!

Thanks for the extra info LDTate :notworthy:

It is indeed disturbing.

@ Doug:
I saw that you posted this information over at the Pit. Good move

This whole situation makes me feel very sad.

I wonder when Iobit file signatures will start to appear in changelogs as recognised spyware....the way things are going I don't think its going to be too long.

Thanks LD.

I seem to remember a problem I had with a client who saw IOBit's "Security 360" program and thought it was something for his Norton 360 Security suite. Neither it, nor Norton worked fine after that and it was a real headache getting it cleaned up. He didn't like it when I removed both from his system and set him up with MSE, but that was then. Now he is glad I did.

I won't be recommending their product any time soon. Oh yeah, I don't recommend "any" automated optimize tools. :P

There are lots of reasons to stay away from IoBit's programs... It just may be possible that the "forced" installation of toolbars may have been a "false positive".

Bills's retraction does not deal with all of the points he brought up in the original article. He also does not state that the "test of the test" that he conducted was on the same build as the original article was written on... or a corrected one.

I'll never know what actually happened... as I stay away from IoBit products!
