Hi,

Your computer indeed has been reinfected.

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

  • Right-click SystemLook.exe then choose "Run as Administrator" to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:
    :dir
    C:\ProgramData\{429CAD59-35B1-4DBC-BB6D-1DB246563521} /s
    C:\ProgramData\{755AC846-7372-4AC8-8550-C52491DAA8BD} /s
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Hi,

Since the infection has come back, maybe due to a site you've surfed, we'll do the following:

NOTE: Do this in all the pc's in your network
  • Download MVPS HOSTS and save it to your Desktop.
  • Extract the contents of hosts.zip in a folder of it's own.
  • Double click mvps.bat. It will now add it's own list to your Hosts file.
  • Press any key to finish.

--Next--

Do the steps again in post #32.

To post in your next reply:
1. MBAM logs from all the pc's.
2. OTL from the first machine we are working on.

Hi,

Let's name the first pc we are working on as Comp A and the second pc in your network as Comp B.

Were you able to add MVPS HOSTS to both of them? As this will help you prevent from straying to an infected site.

As of your OTL scan, Comp A is free from the infection that is redirecting your pc. However, the infection may have been coming from Comp B, there maybe an infected file/files there or the user of Comp B is frequenting an infected site thus also reinfecting Comp A.
Hopefully, adding a custom hosts file will help prevent this. If you can manage to connect to the internet without connecting to the network and/or the router until we're through cleaning both of the pc's then the better, but if not, then let's see what we can do. Confusing? Please ask any questions you have. :)

How is Comp A? Still being redirected?

What I need you to do now is run an OTL and GMER scan on Comp B with these settings:

OTL:
  • Download OTL to your desktop.
  • Right click on OTL.exe then choose "Run as Administrator" to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Copy and paste the following bold text into the box under Custom Scan

    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\*.sys /90
    /md5start
    eventlog.dll
    scecli.dll
    netlogon.dll
    cngaudit.dll
    sceclt.dll
    ntelogon.dll
    logevent.dll
    iaStor.sys
    nvstor.sys
    atapi.sys
    IdeChnDr.sys
    viasraid.sys
    AGP440.sys
    vaxscsi.sys
    nvatabus.sys
    viamraid.sys
    nvata.sys
    nvgts.sys
    iastorv.sys
    ViPrt.sys
    eNetHook.dll
    /md5stop
    CREATERESTOREPOINT

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.

Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of the OTL.txt and post it with your next reply along with the Extras.txt log.

--Next--

Posted Image
Download the GMER Rootkit Scanner. Unzip it to your Desktop.

Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while the scan is being performed. Do not use your computer for anything else during the scan.
  • Right click GMER.exe then choose "Run as Administrator" to run the tool.
    Posted Image
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a full scan...click on NO, then use the following settings for a more complete scan..
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Ensure the following are UNCHECKED ...
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
      Posted Image
Click the image to enlarge it
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "ark.txt"
  • Save the log where you can easily find it, such as your desktop.
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<--- ROOKIT" entries

Please copy and paste the report into your Post.

To post in your next reply:
1. Were you able to add the custom Hosts file?
2. Status of Comp A.
3. Comp B OTL and GMER logs.

EDIT: Added GMER instructions.

Hello Znake

inzanity has been called into work so I'll see if I can help.

Lets check some settings on your system:
  • Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
  • Then right click on your Default Connection
    • Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL, or AOL Connection.
  • Left click on Properties
  • Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item
  • Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen

Next:

Go to Start->Run->Type CMD and click Ok. The MSDOS Window will be displayed. At the command prompt, type the following and press Enter after each line:

IPCONFIG /release
IPCONFIG /renew
IPCONFIG /flushdns
IPCONFIG /registerdns

regsvr32 netshell.dll
regsvr32 netcfgx.dll
regsvr32 netman.dll

Exit

Restart the computer, run a new MBAM scan and post the results.

The forum is run by volunteers who donate their time and expertise.
