Okay... My company had to stop using Lotus SmartSuite after we were bought out... Unfortunately there are a few users that have saved 123, Word Pro, or Freelance Graphics files ... I know that Open Office will convert .123 files, but what about the other 2??? Does anaybody know of anything that will convert (or even view) WordPro or Freelance Graphics files?? Please don't suggest they re-save them in a different format, as there are WAY too many saved on backups... And, we're NOT going to purchase our own version of Smart Suite, so that out of the question also....
Thanks! |

Hi Coyote_9,
Last time we spoke it was about cleaning up a slow running machine and consideration of a security solution other than Norton. You ran into a roadblock from your company's boss/IT manager who was unwilling to consider alternatives. You open your present problem with the restriction that you won't purchase Lotus Suite. OK. Same kind of roadblock situation, it sounds like, anyway. May we presume that your IT folks or yourself has already done a Google search? Google Search of "WordPro convert to MS Office" finds several options. None of them being very neat and tidy. All of them requiring at least two steps for the conversion. And all requiring a earlier version of Office or MS OS. You will probably lose some formating in some/most of your documents and may have to perform the conversion file-by-file. You're in a tight situation, with few options. But what you have available is readily found via the above Google search. If you've considered those solutions, didn't like them, and hoped for a better cheaper answer, I'm out of options. Best of luck to you and your company IT department. Doug |

Hi Coyote_9
KeeView will allow you to view the files and print them, (hopefully that should be good enough for most of your colleagues), KeeView is available from here: http://word.mvps.org/faqs/general/WordProConverter.htm Note this will allow the file to be viewed and printed only, it will not convert them to Word or other format For converting the files your boss might need persusading to put his hand in his wallet!
