I have just read of a critical security flaw in adobe flash player which will hopefully be fixed by 30th July and it is recommended not to use web pages etc where flash might be required until the flaw has been fixed. It is supposed to affect pcs with adobe 9 pdf reader where a hacker can take over a pc.

Does anyone know if there is a freeware alternative to adobe which can be used in the meantime?

Thanks for reading and in advance for any help offered.

I never use Adobe Reader. Reason being that they are slow to update imho.

I use Foxit Reader (portable version which don't ask for installing the Ask toolbar)

If you search for the version to install, be sure to untick the option to install Ask toolbar.

Another alternative, is Sumatra Pdf reader.

Cheers
