Had some recent weirdness on the wifes comp and noticed this new Icon on the desktop: delself (MS-Dos Batch File) Did not recently install any new programs so I do not know what it is or what it does. When she shut down her comp the other day, seemed to shut down ok, but the monitor stayed on and showed the desktop wallpaper with no icons. Had to pull the power cable in order to reboot. DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix, Vundofix, or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

You might want to print these instructions out.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Please download HoxtXpert.

1. Unzip HostsXpert.zip
2. Double click on HostsXpert.exe
3. Then click on "Restore Original Hosts" to restore your Hosts file to its default condidtion..
4. Click on Make Hosts Read Only to secure it against further infection.
5. Close program when complete.

Empty Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new log file into this thread.
