Hello everyone,
glad to have stumbled across your forum as I am currently having some traumatic experience with my PC and malware (which is a new thing to me but it seems I have let my guard down and become complacent - that just shows that you should always stay alert...). I feel kind of guilty to have no other reason than the selfish "I need your help" but I am really glad to see that there are people around who like to help out others in distress. I sure do hope I will be able to solve the issues with your advice and guidance soon, as my workload is quite big and some deadlines are approaching rapidly... Well, that's my situation in a few sentences. Thanks in advance for the effort that is evidently being put into this support forum! Des |

Hi and welcome to the WTT forums.
Sorry to hear of the problems with your machine. The malware fighters over in the malware removal forum are pretty busy at the moment, as the number of folks in trouble, sometimes exceeds the number of trained advisers available. However please be assured that they will get to your post as soon as they can. It's important that you do not send a second or "follow up" post in HijackThis_Logs_and_Infections_Removal until you have received a response from them there (The malware fighters look first for posts with zero response ). If you have not received a response from them within 5 days then please go here: http://forums.whatthetech.com/What_To_Do_I...ays_t83910.html Regards paws |

Thank you for the reply, paws. I am aware that the number of people with infected hardware must be higher than the number of people able to deal with it and willing to spend their spare time doing so. I am surprised at the short respond time in general on this forum (I have of course done my excessive browsing before registering and bothering you with my own problem as I believe that unless you have at least tried to solve it with the knowledge that is nowadays easily available in the internet you shouldn't bother other people who have a full schedule helping others already).
While I hope that the issue will be resolved as soon as possible, I was able to safe my projects and will be setting up a notebook for temporary use as my "workstation" until the problem is dealt with. Once again, I am very grateful for the forum and the people putting up with the problems of others and therefore surely will not be one who is impatiently waiting and tapping his foot. |

Hopefully, when your problems are sorted you will keep using the forum - plenty of advice about other issues as well as malware. Satchfan |

Thanks Satchfan,
I know my problem is not an easy one, otherwise I would have been able to solve it by now as I take pride in being able to resolve my own problems if at all possible. But I am positive that with the help of the volunteers on this forum the PC will be clean again soon. If not there is always the option to reinstall everything (which I am seriously contemplating right now) but for this I would definitely seek help and take advice from people in this forum as my SATA RAID system is not recognised by the WinXP CD and I also would like to know how to include the Security Packs straight away. But I will scan through the forum and check where the appropriate sub-forum for matters like this is located and try and post as much info as possible there if it comes to that indeed. Again, I am very grateful for the support that is shown overall on this forum as I have been so disappointed with various other interactions on the internet where stupidity, ignorance and selfishness seem to prosper like dust under the bed. So it is refreshing to see some platform where people actually try to help out with no hidden motives other than the satisfaction to be of assistance. Especially since I have been living like this all my life and it just infuriates me when others try to get what they can while not being prepared to give something in return every now and then. Sorry for the rant, this just really annoys me big time. And as you can see, with my PC down and only my notebook available, I spend too much time babbling about instead of getting my work done... oh well, finally a relaxing weekend for a change. If only because I have no other choice Thanks for the welcome both of you, I am confident that whoever will take care of the problem will manage to find a solution together with me eventually, Des |
