The title basically explains the problem: My computer randomly plays audio clips at random times. The noise sometimes sounds like laser guns, a guitar, and once I even heard about 3 seconds of a Linkin Park song. I've tried using Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, and Uniblue Registry Booster 2 to fix the problem. I've had some infections and whatnot here and there, but after scanning just last night, I heard the sound again a few minutes ago. One time when I heard it, I saw the FFDShow icon appear on the taskbar (or whatever it's proper name is, right next to the clock on the lower-right corner...) appear and disappear immediately. FFDShow is a Codec pack for audio and video files. This lead me to believe this was causing the sounds. I uninstalled the program, but I'm still hearing sounds. I tried the self-help fixes, but nothing still. Below is my HijackThis log, as well as my Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware log. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any help you could offer me.

You have BitTorrent installed, I would like you to read this and fully understand it, its our forum policy that programs like this be uninstalled before we can offer any help as if its not you could infect yourself in the future. QUOTE We have noticed that most people seeking help from us are coming with infections contracted from the use of P2P programs. Because of this, we felt we needed to change our policy on the use of P2P file sharing programs. * If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. We will withdraw our help should you not agree to their removal. * If we clean your computer of infection, and you return to us a short time later with an infection contracted by the use of P2P programmes, we will refuse our help. We do not ask you to do this without reason. P2P programs form a direct conduit onto your computer, their security measures are easily circumvented, and Malware writers are increasingly exploiting them to spread their wares onto your computer. Further to that, if your P2P programme is not configured correctly you may be sharing more files than you realise. There have been cases where people's Passwords, Address Books and other personal, private, and financial details have been exposed to the file sharing network by a badly configured programme. This article from InfoWorld illustrates perfectly the dangers of a poorly configured P2P program. http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/...D-theft_1.html Many of the programs come bundled with other unwanted programs, but even the ones free of any bundled software are not safe to use. When you use them you are downloading software from an unknown source directly onto your computer, bypassing your Firewall and Anti-Virus software. Hardly surprising then that many of these Downloads are being targeted to carry infections. We see no purpose in cleaning your machine if you use P2P programs, as it is pretty much certain that if you continue to use them then you will get infected again. You Hijackthis log in not showing anything earth shattering but its outdated and may not be showing everything. Malwarebytes came up clean as well. Drag Hijackthis to the trash and download and install the latest version by Trendmicro. Download Trendmicros Hijackthis to your desktop.
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required. Uninstall BitTorrent and post a new HJT log by Trendmicro |

I checked my sound options, and some of my settings were set to "Play the Expressions Buddy Sound of any user" which could explain the trouble. The only thing I see that needs to be fixed is Viewpoint Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked. O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Viewpoint Corporation - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall Viewpoint, it installs without your knowledge or consent, uses system resources and basically is not needed for anything. Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.
Please note: If you use online banking or are registered online with any other organizations, ensure you have memorized password and other personal information as removing cookies will temporarily disable the auto-login facility. Everything else looks fine  If your still having issues this may be a software problem, let me know and i can link you to some windows support sites |

Many of the programs come bundled with other unwanted programs, but even the ones free of any bundled software are not safe to use. If you live in the U.S.A. you can also report your grievance to your State Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection. QUOTE Keep in mind if you install some of these programs. Only ONE Anti Virus and only ONE Firewall is recommended, more is overkill and can cause you problems. You can install all the Spyware programs I have listed without any problems. If you install Spyware Blaster, you can still install Spybot Search and Destroy but do not enable the TeaTimer in Spybot.
