When I check my windows temp file I find 1800 Text Documents listed that relate to Microsoft Update #'s and dates. Is it safe to delete them.

I'm not a professional but I'm positive it's a yes. It's called Temp for Temporary, you don't need any of the files in there. Those files are more of a history of things that you have done. I know you don't need those files because my Temp is currently empty and my computers fine.

I think it's actually good to empty out your Temp folder every once in a while as it is a place where a lot of viruses can lurk from your online browsing. Deleting Temp deletes anything you may have picked up from the net.

It is a good idea to clean out your temp files on a regular basis.
These files can build up and clog the works. If the temp files are loaded down your web browser will be slower.
ATF Cleaner will do a nice job of cleaning out uneeded files.
Use once a week and you are good to go.
