my isp provided software has detected this just now, but the two options it gives me (delete(recommended) and disinfect) both say that the antivirus is unable to access the file.

the file is listed as NGG(1).JS and the path is in my local settings/temporary internet files/content.IE5/ALNCQU1P.
I've tried searching online for a patch to fix it but all i get is listings of various virus files with this one included, no new information or ways in which to remove it

I've tried deleting that folder but it won't let me.
Help! i dont know what to do!

hi Anjie,

need a starting reference point. a hjt log would help:

download hjt:
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/th.../HJTInstall.exe

* Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
* Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
* By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
* Click on Install.
* It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
* Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
* Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
* Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" and Paste the entire contents of the log (no attachments) into your next reply
