I visit some singles sites and some of them do have unwanted pics and advertisements. I'm pretty sure that I got infected when I logged onto one of these sites. I have tried several different spyware, adware, mulware and antivirus programs. Nothing seems to get rid of this message. The message is in the system tray to the right of the time stamp. It reads in this fashion: 19:02: VIRUS ALERT! Exactly in this fashion. Please note that the time has changed to 24 hour instead of 12 hour. Not only is this message in the system tray, it is everywhere that a time stamp is located. Some of the programs that I have used to try and eliminate this issue are: Windows defender, XoftSpySE, AVG free 8.0, semantec, and a couple of others that I have deleted such as RegCure. My computer is also running very slow and now I do not have any display settings and my 'ALL PROGRAMS' option is missing from my start menu and my local drives no longer appear under 'My Computer'. hopefully someone could be able to help me. all i did was just leave it overnight on standby, i've done it lots of times before, but i guess i've learnt my lesson now.

Well here is my current logfile from HijackThis

Hi

Rename HijackThis
There is a possibility an infection which is hiding part of the HijackThis log because it's called hijackthis.exe.
Using Windows Explore by right-clicking the Start button and left clicking Explore navigate to: C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe

Right-click on HijackThis.exe & select Rename to iseeu.exe and post back a new Hijackthis log.

Hi
If you already have Combofix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once Recovery Console is installed, you should see a blue screen prompt like the one below:

Click Yes to allow Combofix to continue scanning for malware.

When done, a log will be produced. Please post that log and a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you -- please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

In your next reply post:
ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log taken after the above scan has run
