Just out of curiosity in what general direction do you go when sifting through all the new forum topics.

Hi Riverwind
Not sure I understand entirely what you mean? When I log on to WTT, I usually click "view new posts", which will show all new posts since my last vist. Then I stay clear of HJT malware removal forum (scrolling past them, to start with). Any posts not related to malware I look through. Its not all that I answer to, for several reasons. Like, if the OP is already getting help from someone, and I can't add any new to the topic, or if its out of my field of knowledge. Sometimes, I look through some of the HJT-logs in the malware removal forum, and the advices / tools recommended for that particular infection. I do that out of curiosity and in hoping to learn some, without actually being involved in the situation. Hope this answer your question for my part. How other do this, may be entirely different. Hi Riverwind
Ahh, ok. Hmm, I really can't answer that. Simply because I don't know. I don't work with HJT removal, so how they do it, must be for them to answer. But, I do know they look for posts with Zero replies. So "bumping" (answer own post) will give a significantly delay in response. It may also vary from malware fighter to malware fighter. As some are more experienced than others or have more spare-time to use, and therefore can take on more posts. How they actually sift through them, I can only guess. If you go into the malware forum(or any other forum) , and look to the right. Try click the "Forum Options" box. There you will get a choice of "List unreplied to threads" and I would think its mainly that function they use. Regards Abydos |
