Hi All....

I'm running a Toshiba laptop, with VISTA. Everything is up to date.
I forget what type of sound device is on my laptop, but sure it's NOT a Conexant.
Funny thing is, after a recent update, VISTA automatically updated my system and installed the Conexant driver for my sound device.
Things started going haywire right after that and my speakers no longer worked. I uninstalled the Conexant stuff and the speakers started working again.
However, if I leave the laptop on and it goes into standby mode, the speakers will not work once it wakes up. I would have to restart the LT to get the speakers working again.

What's happening? Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks for looking in.

Paul

Greetings SashimiOnly

Welcome back to WTT

Part of troubleshooting a problem and asking advice here is getting and presenting all of the information you can. This is a collaborative effort in which we all work on to solve a issue if it can.

You gave wonderful information on when you thought the issue ocurred but not on what it occured on.

Why do you want everyone to guess?

Even a car parts store needs make and model of your car before they can tell you what part is needed and if it is in stock.

You can appreciate that there are more than one model toshiba laptop in the world. So to begin, please post Make, Model information with what operating system you have. Specific is good.

Then at least someone, including you, can check to see what your computer is suppose to have as far as hardware. Having make and model and OS may lead you into finding if there is a known issue and we all are better for it.

Regards

Kaz
