I was looking on youtube and I found a video of a guy showing you what hackers can do to hack you once they have your ip. It spoke that the first thing they do is look at your ports to look for vulnerabilities. Is there a way to find out what ports on my computer are vulnerable and how to fix it? Thanks.
Part of beating the threats out there is not always just having a basic defense on your pc, but also to find out what the enemy does and to think like the enemy to defeat any attack. |

a computer in order to be hacked must have some help on the inside. its the application or service thats listening on the port that could be exploited.. what makes it vulnerable? having a unpatched OS, browser or application/service thats listening on the port or a trojan of course.
several ports are opened by windows services, they are also the most exploited. |

A very good counter-measure is to have a true-stealth Firewall. Stealthing ones Firewall makes you invisible on the net by not pinging back any ping request, staying silent instead, it will appear you're not even there or not online regardless of IP.

Great replies folks Youre welcome. Just for illustrating, heres my test-result for all service-ports using the test you linked to: The test is done with Comodo Firewall Pro. with out-of-the-box settings, except for choosing stealth on all ports. |

I got a perfect. Awesome site. The shields up phrase reminds me of the old star trek and scotty. Ah the only charcter with a red shirt that never died. Every crewman that had on a red shirt always were the ones to die in an episode.
Thanks. Looks like there's other scanning buttons on there. Great site. |

It's always great when someone brings up an issue that not only gets a resolution for himself, but also helps out others as well. Like with this scan. Guess we're good. Come and get us you hackers out there. lol.
