Hello -
I just had to reformat and reinstall windows XP on my PC. In our PC's previous life, we had Outlook Express. The only version of Outlook that I currently have is Outlook Professional. It does not seem to recoginize our address book that we saved in the recommended format from Outlook Express which was/is a .wab file. It would like it to be a .pab file. Help?? Thank you very much!! |

Hi,
Outlook Express is included as part of Internet Explorer, included in your basic Windows XP installation, so you can easily use that programme as you did previously. If you can't load it easily from an icon or you cant find it from the Start menu(although it should be there!) then you can have a look in C:\ Program Files\Outlook Express and double click on the executable..... its called msism.exe You will find that Outlook Express will then load and by going to File, Import you can import your old address book or all your old emails....... if you made a back up...... Once you have done this then you can then go back to C:\ Program Files\Outlook Express\msism.exe and right click on it and send a short cut to the desktop., so it's easy to find for the future. If you really want to use Microsoft Office Outlook (its a more complicated and comprehensive version of Outlook Express) then you can go here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/...0919601033.aspx where you find the directions to import your address book from OE Regards paws |
