My boyfriends computer is having problems installing updates on Windows XP's automatic updates. Every time you try to install them it comes up with "Some updates could not be installed." Which would be all of them.
This is what it says when it does this below.

Not to mention his computer had a few problems before like not booting up right because a system file was corrupted or missing one day for no reason, we fixed that with the OS installation disc. But it still asks you to hit f1 to continue or f2 to boot from disc or floppy every time it restarts. It also restarts on it's own without asking if you want to restart or not.

Some updates could not be installed.

The following updates were not installed:

Security Update for Windows XP (KB914389)

Dragina,

The first and obvious question would be "Is this a legal, licensed & registered copy of Windows XP. If not then this could be causing your inability to download & installed upates. If it IS a legal copy of Windows, try going to:

http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftu...t.aspx?ln=en-us

When prompted all the ActiveX controlls and other software to install. If this still doesn't fix your problem with updates, check up:

http://support.microsoft.com/search/defaul...&range=1-53

Hope this helps.

John
