Hello,

I am trying to add another computer to my network and I am having difficulty getting past the firewall.
QUOTE
The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (new computer) (NetBIOS Session) from laptop (current computer) (IP address) (TCP Port #)(TCP Flags: S)

The new computer shows up on the network and does have limited access (https sites only) All settings are identical on both machines.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Windows XP SP2
Zone Alarm Free - Firewall
Avast - Anti Virus

Thanks,
OCD

Hi,
It might be as well to check that you have set up your firewall correctly to allow access.
click on the Z icon for Zone Alarm in the notification area
Click on firewall
Allow access to taste!
See how you go

paws,

I checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be any reason why it cannot access the internet fully. Also, discovered that the new computer can access and download email. So it appears it just won't access unsecured (http) websites.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,
Try putting your browser security settings to default and ensuring that none of your security products are blocking access

Hey paws,

Don't know exactly what I did, but with a little tinkering everything is working as it should. Thanks for the help.
