Greetings.

My " Total battery power remaining" on my Dell Inspiron 9300 is stuck on saying that i have 1% left, and it wont go any higher. When i unplug my adapter, my laptop goes straight into saying it has critical battery. I cant use the laptop without it being plugged in! What could be the cause, and problem, and what are my possible solutions?

thanks in advanced

Is it still under warranty? It might be a bad battery or a bad circuit in the laptop. The transformer must still be good or it wouldn't even run. Taking it in for service might be your only option to run down what's wrong?

I have a friend that buys a mid to upper level laptop every 3 years, he always gets the 3 year extended warranty, one HP from sears had about 600$ worth of warranty work done on it in the second and third year. Another guy I met had one and the motherboard broke after 13 months on a 1 year warranty, he took it in for service, paid 200$ getting work done, it was never fixed, HP wanted like 400$ to fix it, he threw it away.
