I used to be able to tip it back a little more and it would show up, but now, no amount of wiggling helps.
Something must be loose. I did open it up and found a loose screw on the display flex cable connector.
Tightened it, but it didn't help.

Greetings capri2001

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your laptop.

First workaround is to put the computer on a external monitor. There is usually a function key feature to switch your laptop display to external output.

This will allow you to eliminate the video output (meaning a mainboard replacement) as the source of the fault. If not a mainboard fault you then can use the computer until you figure out your repair options.

You didnt mention if you were seeking to do repairs yourself or much of what you wanted comment on.

If under mfg warranty, go to Dell.

If seeking to repair it yourself, avail yourself of the resources on the internet. Google up laptop repair help

If your asking for opinion, I think you need a LCD replacement.

Regards

Kaz.

Thanks Kaz,
I hooked it up to an external monitor and it works fine. I was trying to do the repairs myself, if I can figure out what is wrong. I have been following the diagrams on the Dell website. I had it apart once, but stopped when I found the loose screw, hoping that was the only problem. I was hoping you could tell me which part to check when I take it apart again.

Greetings capri2001:

The problem is in the LCD itself, in the video cable or in a bad connection between the LCD and the system board.

Remember there are two ends to the video cable.

A Listing of Dell take apart guides

Also other laptop repair resources are availible from that link along the right hand side.

Regards

Kaz.
