I hope soemone can help with this particular problem. I have read several posts on here and tried some remedies, and they helped, but this problem persists. It started on Tuesday night when I was browsing the Microsoft site. I noticed a bullet which advertised a free malware scan. I currently am using Norton, which comes free with my service provider, so I decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, it indicated that I had several serious viruses on my computer. Consequently, I decided to download the Windows One Live Care from the site, and delete the Norton. When I tried to access my programs to delete Norton, it stated that only an administrator could do this. Having loaded and unloaded several programs in the past, I immediately became concerned. I began to read up on possible solutions, and have tried the following so far: Restore - Program begins and then a pop up window denies access Wipe XP - Access to boot drive is denied Factory reset - Access to drive is denied. I have downloaded a number of adware and spyware freeware programs, and they have cleaned out a bunch of stuff, As well, various scans have indicated the following viruses: Trojan.Click.187 ( An internet search revealed little about it) Adware.Agent.BN ( I followed your guidelines here to remove ) various spywares, all of which have been removed I am concerned that the Norton is not up to scratch. To further complicate things, a condition of the Microsoft One live download is that I remove other anti-virus programs. I am unable to do this, so the firewall on the Microsoft One won't let anything through. I have posted the hijack file below. Any help for this would be greatly appreciated. Update for any of the pros who may be looking at this file:
I have managed to crack open my add/delete programs using the Doug Knox VB Script tool (outstanding by the way) and have cleaned up most of the other stuff through AV programs. One further question though. An Av scanner indicated that vundo was still present in a registry file. I have read somewhere that this is nothing to worry about. Is that correct? |
