hi hunter260859,
more info please. can you get to the windows desktop? a HD light flashing would seem a normal activity to me as data is being read/written to it. any beeping sounds during the boot up process? not sure what to make of a flashing power led, may be of diagnostic value, maybe not. whats the make/model of your computer. shelf life |

ok so sometimes it makes it to the desktop, but other times it just reboots itself. if it makes it to the desktop try this: start>settings>control panel>system>advanced tab>startup and recovery>settings. uncheck under system failure "automatically restart"
can you recognize anything about the beeps during startup. like 1 short beep, 2 beeps, any pattern to it? have you installed any new hardware or (updated)drivers lately. i dont suspect a driver though since these usually cough up a BSOD. can you hear fans spinning in the case? the bad news is a rebooting computer could be the result of many things from overheating to hardware gone bad and can be hard to pin down via a forum. are you comfortable with opening the case to check some items? also a good idea to check the mauf. website for FAQ/troubleshooting sections. |
