Hey all... first post. Hopefully it's in the right place.

I am in the process of removing some nasty nasty nasty spyware. I went to re-boot into Safe Mode with Win2k and run a complete scan with AVG Anti-Spyware. But I am having a difficult time doing it without a mouse. (It is plugged into Com 1... I can work Spybot no problem - but no luck with AVG in safe mode.

Any suggestions?

The spyware is WACKY32.exe - but I'm sure there's a lot more than that going on.

Use Arrow keys to toggle to - AVG (free edition)
Right-Arrow to expand AVG
Select - AVG Free Editions for Windows
Press - Alt - to highlight Command line
Right-Arrow - to highlight Tests
Press - Enter displays pull-down menu of Tests and Settings
Use Down-Arrow to Select Scan Computer - Complete Test
Press Enter - launches Complete Test

And now a recommendation:

While in Normal Mode - Run and post a HJT Log to the Malware Removal Forum, here:

Thanks! I neglected to mention that I am getting an error message from the spyware as seen in the jpg I have attached. Essentially, I would have to hit alt-F4 to turn that warning off.

I will post the hijack log as suggested shortly.

I notice that a made a "blunder' type mistake.

I gave you the keyboard instructions for Running AVG (free) AntiVirus instead of the AVG AntiSpyware 7.5

Sorry.

I've just been trying to use Keyboard to activate AVG AntiSpyware 7.5
I can't get it to respond to Keyboard -- at all.
Keyboard links may not exist.

Maybe a more knowledgeable Member will have something for you later.

But I'm glad you are posting your HJT Log. That's the way to go.

Best Regards
