You have been infected by one of the SpyAxe family of bogus Spyware Removers. They infect your PC then try to make you pay them to clean it. This is a crime, it is fraud, and if you can spare some time to complain, it will help bring these crooks to justice. If you are in the U.S: The best way to take action is to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. It will take many people to complain to the FTC to get them to take action, but they will act if enough people file a complaint. In 2004, the FTC acted against Spywiper and shut them down for infecting people's computers and then trying to sell them software to clean the computer. Anyone who paid money for SpyAxe really needs to file a complaint. Do the following to file a complaint with the FTC: · Go to the FTC Consumer Complaint Form · Choose "Computers/Internet Services" in the "Subject of Your Complaint" drop-down box · Fill in your contact details · Write "SpyAxe" as the name of the product you are complaining about · Explain your problem with SpyAxe in the "Explain Your Problem" section · If you paid for SpyAxe, please fill out the sections about how you paid for it. If you are in the U.K. There is no U.K. equivalent to the FTC, but you can still make a difference. Please read this article: http://malwareremoval.com/plog/index.php?o...eId=80&blogId=4 Post your comments here: http://malwareremoval.com/plog/index.php?o...eId=81&blogId=4 or here if you prefer, you don't need to be registered to post; http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewforum.php?f=89 Finally, bother your own M.P. You can find out who that is and how to contact them here: http://www.locata.co.uk/commons/ If you can spare the time to do any of this please do. Let’s shut these criminals down. If someone broke into your house then tried to sell you a burglar alarm you’d do something about it, yes? In effect, this has just happened to you! |
