I tried logging into the account, but an error message "indicating that this user logged into another machine" occurred. I solved theproblem by changing my password to Yahoo, then logging back into messenger. I've had no problems since so that isn't my question. What is my question is how hackers solve passwords? I have searched for trojans but didn't find anything. Here is the Hijack information: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 3:29:47 PM, on 12/29/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\S24EvMon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\ZAForceField\IswSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\EvtEng.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\Program Files\Panasonic\Panasonic-DMS\MFP Utilities Common\MfpDtMng.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\NICCONFIGSVC.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\Program Files\Panasonic\TrapMonitor\Trapmnnt.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon\RegSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\SeaPort\SeaPort.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\WLKeeper.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiapsrv.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\CheckPoint\ZAForceField\ForceField.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apoint.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\HidFind.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Program Files\Apoint\Apntex.exe C:\WINDOWS\stsystra.exe C:\Program Files\Wave Systems Corp\Services Manager\DocMgr\bin\docmgr.exe C:\Program Files\Wave Systems Corp\SecureUpgrade.exe C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD\DVDLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\ZCfgSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon\iFrmewrk.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\unsecapp.exe C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\NetWaiting\netWaiting.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Distillr\acrotray.exe C:\Program Files\Digital Line Detect\DLG.exe C:\Program Files\MicrosoftOffice97\Office\OSA.EXE C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\MailFrontier\mantispm.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Terry Felter\Local Settings\Application Data\Yahoo!\BrowserPlus\2.4.21\BrowserPlusCore.exe C:\Program Files\ScottradeELITE\ScottradeELITEClientUpdater.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157 R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896 R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896 R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157 R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Hi,
Please do the following: Open notepad and copy/paste the text inside the codebox below into it: CODE @echo off for %%g in ( C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\c\documents and settings\Terry Felter\My Documents\Convert.exe.vir ) do zip Files_for_submission %%g del %0 Save this as grab.bat Choose to "Save type as - All Files" Save it on your desktop. It should look like this: Double click on the grab.bat icon, allow it to run, a small black box will flash open for a moment, this is normal. A file, Files_for_submission.zip will be created on your desktop. Please upload the Files_for_submission.zip file here --> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-malware.php?channel=4 Please include the link to this topic in the message. > http://forums.whatthetech.com/Yahoo_messen...ed_t109176.html Please let me know that it was successfully uploaded |

Hi,
did you make sure that you saved it as 'All files' ? did you save it to your desktop? did you find the file that looked like this? did you double click that icon to run it? Do a search for this filed with your windows explorer in case it was saved elsewhere Files_for_submission.zip |

The command box appeared and, although I couldn't read it as fast as it occurred, it seemed to be trying to save a file.
Yes, I did a search and no file with even a similar name exists. EDIT: Wait----- I ran grab.bat again and paused the code. zip warning: name not matched: C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\c\documents zip error: Nothing to do! (Files_for_submission.zip) zip warning: name not matched: and zip error: Nothing to do!.... Terminate batch job (Y/N)? This post has been edited by terryfelter: Jan 3 2010, 01:22 PM |

Hi,
please give it one more try, it should have created the log: I copied the path directly from the quarantine file you just posted, so it should be correct. Please copy/paste the command inside the codebox exactly as you see it, into notepad (make sure word wrap is not checked) do not include the word "code". CODE @echo off for %%g in ( C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Documents and Settings\Terry Felter\My Documents\Convert.exe.vir ) do zip Files_for_submission %%g del %0 |

That is odd.
Lets try and do it this way can you please navigate to that file: C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Documents and Settings\Terry Felter\My Documents\Convert.exe.vir right click it and choose > Send to > Compressed (zipped) Folder It will create a zipped folder in that C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Documents and Settings\Terry Felter\My Documents folder Drag and drop this zipped folder to your desktop. then submit that zipped folder as per the previous instructions. Let me know if that was successful. |
