Like many others, my "Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 Service Pack 2 PC" has the patched uxtheme.dll so I can apply thrid party visual styles.

Although I haven't installed Service Pack 3, I was wondering, what should I do - will my patched uxtheme.dll cause trouble in future should I install Service Pack 3?

Or will installing Service Pack 3 replace various system files including uxtheme.dll which means that I will no longer be able to use custom themes. After that, would I be able to use some sort of patcher?

My gut instict says installing Service Pack 3 will be fine and that my uxtheme.dll will still be able to use custom themes but in times like this, I need the help of PC tech who's more techier than I am. notworthy.gif

Please help - thanks in advance thumbup.gif

A Google search on sp3 uxtheme.dll gets lots of hits. First one points here: http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18059
