What do you mean when you say "I did that, doesn't work"?
Were you able to setup you computer so Windows was managing the wireless connection? If so, when you right click on the Wireless Icon in the system tray of Task Manager, were you able to bring up the list of available wireless networks? Is that where you do not see your router listed? This page tells you how to get into the router setup: http://support.2wire.com/?page It also tells you how to verify the routers settings. If that doesn't help, time to reset the router to factory default and start over again. Typically there is a small, sometimes hard to see, button on the back of the router. Press and hold this in for 10 seconds or so, see if that restores the router to it's default settings. If not, power off the router, press and hold the reset button then power it up. Wait 10 seconds or so then release the reset button. See if that puts it back to factory default. |

Hi,Crucified D,
I think that Ztruker is probably looking for a little more information from you than "short" answers.......... When trying to assist someone with a computer problem at "long range" we rely upon the operator of the machine to be our eyes and ears.......we are not sitting in front of the machine but you are....... When we have a machine in the worskshop for repair we can see hear and sometimes even feel what is going on inside, and can quickly run a whole battery of tests, and if necessary swap out components or run a series of software fixes, in the knowledge that what we are able to see or hear will prevent us (usually!) from damaging the machine....... When we are not in front of the machine (and some of us are thousands of miles away) its a lot more difficult, and this is where we must rely upon your goodself for comprehensive feedback of each stage. If you are able to, it would be very helpful if you could to report back exactly what happens at each step of the process, what appears on the screen etc Regards paws This post has been edited by paws: Nov 7 2009, 07:16 AM |

Have you asked your neighbors yet if they can see your wireless network? If not then the 2Wire modem is the problem and you need to contact your ISP for a replacement.
