You may be correctly identifying (1) of your system problems when you describe that you have installed an antivirus application without being certain that you previously removed the first antivirus product correctly.
If you intend to "uninstall" the Kaspersky product, in favor of using AVG, then be sure you have removed Kaspersky successfully by uninstalling it via Control Panel - Add/Remove. You can perform an additional check of whats running by looking in your System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG) GoTo: Start - Run - (type)msconfig - (press)Enter Select the StartUp(tab) Browse the list of applications and processes that are listed there as running active. If any items of Kaspersky are listed, be sure to "remove" the checkmark/tick from in front of that item. Next: Select - Services(tab) Place a checkmark/tick in the box in front of "Hide all Microsoft" Now browse this list of active Services, and remove the checkmark/tick from in front of any remaining Kaspersky items. ________________________ Running (2) two AntiVirus products actively at the same time can create conflict that produce various types of problems, and may be the source of your present difficulty. ________________________ Since you have decided to post in the Malware Removal Forum in addition to this Forum, we will necessarily need to wait before providing any additional assistance here in this Forum, until a Malware Expert has determined that you are free of any infection that could be the cause of your difficulty. Please be patient with the very busy Malware Forum. Your post will be responded to in turn. Best Regards |

Kaspersky is an application utility program used as an AntiVirus and if you have other components of it, as an AntiSpyware as well.
It would be un-installed from control panel - Add/Remove. System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG) is a Windows component. Start - Run - (type)msconfig - Enter |

Start - all programs. Click on Accessories, then scroll down to 'Run'
at the entry line (type)cmd - Enter In the dos-like box you will notice a "blinking Cursor" At the Blinking Cursor - (type)ipconfig /flushdns - Enter Allow time for the procedure to complete (usually less than one minute) Then (type)Exit - Enter (to make the dos box disappear) ___________________________________________________ Reboot your machine and tell us if your browsing and access is at all improved. ___________________________________________________ With regard to "Flash" media, you may need to use the Adobe uninstall tool, then reinstall FlashPlayer. With regard to the other access, you may benefit from "uninstalling" all JAVA via Control Panel - Add/Remove Then install the latest JAVA Java Runtime Environment JRE 6.05 |

Let's get an overview of that machine, using PCPitstop Full Tests.
Here's my "old" canned speech for getting to the PCPitstop Full Tests. With Vista, you will need to - Right-Click on Internet Explorer and select - Run as Administrator When you are finished with the Full Tests and have posted the TechExpress link, don't forget to "Exit" Internet Explorer and re-start Internet Explorer with the usual "left click" to open the browser with the default UAC protections. (It's not a good idea to be browsing the internet in full Administrative account permission mode) QUOTE Please Run the PCPitstop Full Tests, here: http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp Register and create a password Accept the ActiveX component to allow your machine to run the Full Tests Registering and accepting the ActiveX are both SAFE and FREE. Full Tests is the first item in the left hand column of that page. The Full Tests take less than 5 minutes for most machines. Once you have your Results, please post the TechExpress Link back here into this thread for review. TechExpress is the last item on the list in the yellow box in upper right area of any Results page. Post the entire URL link information back here into this Forum thread. Caution: During the testing of Video Adapter, a variety of patterns, shapes, colors and text are “flashed” onto the users monitor screen. In the many thousands of daily uses of the PCPitstop Full Tests over several years, two individuals who suffer epilepsy experienced discomfort and temporary dizziness when viewing the flashing patterns. If you know that you are susceptible to photo driven seizure, look away from your screen during the Video Adapter testing sequence. We can have a look at your Results and possibly isolate a contributing problem or two. Best Regards |
