Hopefully thats clear lol, but what I have found with being able to have a button that shows your spec under your name\details on the left, it saves putting it in your Sig, and if new members were greeted with a note to say if they could enter these details it would help others having to ask for each bit of detail each time, that way it saves space and has the promise of speeding up the help, because if used properly you wouldn't need to wait for a reply to find out what components are involved, just a thought.

That might work if you only had one computer. I have three.

Most folks probably have one but how could we handle those who have multiple computers?

Yes that does have it's problems, and obviously having an option to enter details of numerous systems per person would not be realistically possible IMHO, not to mention it would add a further unnecessary load to the site, where I have seen this in action people simply input the details of they're main rig, should they be asking about another rig they would still need to offer up that info, it's not a perfect solution, but if utilised by the users correctly it can be a great aid, but we are at the mercy of the user to keep the details current given upgrades etc, so it's not a perfect solution, but it can be useful.
