Hi all, Paul here, new to the forums.

Just wondered if you could look through my Hijackthis scan and tell me what I dont need running? There seems to be a lot of things and there wasnt this much when I first installed Vista. I dont wanna close important stuff so would like some advice before closing anything.

Scan can be downloaded here:

Shocked to be honest, of all the places to come for help with Hijack and process's you'd think this would be the number 1 place, but to get not a single reply is just rediculous.

The fact that you haven't received a reply yet is a result of your own behaviour. Due to the sheer volume of threads in this forum, helpers look for threads that have 0 replies as these are threads that have not yet been responded to by anyone else. The fact that you bumped your own thread a mere 6 hours after posting it, a great sign of impatience, you immediately caused all helpers to ignore your thread. It quite clearly states in the How To Get Help thread that you should not bump your log. If you had read this thread, you will have also noted that if you haven't received a reply after 5 days then you should post in this thread and then all helpers will know that you are awiting reply. Your failure to abide by any of these guidelines along with your obvious lack of patience almost makes me want to close this topic right now and send you off to hassle some other forum.

Alas, I am generally a good natured person and I will have a look at your log.

I don't download unknown files from public upload services. If you wish to receive help please post a new HijackThis in a new reply to this thread, and I will have a look at it.

I'm afraid I will need the entire HijackThis log.

Are you experiencing any problems other than slowness?

Here's a couple of other things to do:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.
  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS.txt will open.
  • Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
---------------------------------------------------
  • Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply
  • Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scroling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and the click UPLOAD.
Thanks.
