My laptop has slowed down and freezes when I try to play games, facebook games mostly. I ran the free uniblue booster 2010 and it suggested I have many problems. Do I need to purchase this product to fix my computer? or is this a scam? Please help.

No is the simple answer, but for those users without the ability\knowledge it may be a viable option, BUT, research about the company\product is essential before believing what such scans claim to be wrong, it is a common tactic used by unscrupulous vendors to panic people into buying they're software, but there are genuine tools about as well, and for some such software is the solution, but not always.

I suggest going to The Pit and running they're scan, you will need to create an account, it is free and you will not get bombarded by junk mail, not unless you opt to receive such mail in which case it will simply be the news letter, but you can opt out at any stage, but if you can do this then post the results back here (simply copy and paste the URL of the results page back here) then we can see whats going on, also if you can say what other points the Uniblue scan mentioned we can have a look at your options.

Yes that's fine, looks like it just needs a tune up and a few updates, so lets deal with the quick and easy basics first, so get, install and run the following junk file cleaners, be aware these WILL wipe your cookies, so if you use these to keep logged into sites make sure you know your details to log back in again, and if you need these I can instruct you how to set it up to not touch the cookies you need, but get the following:-
Disk Cleaner
CCleaner; Note- Take notice of the check boxes during the install, I suggest unchecking the 2nd one from the top and most importantly the bottom one, or it will add the yahoo toolbar.
CleanUp! (pre vista ONLY)

Now it may be overkill for some, but I find the others usually get stuff that the others don't, but this will clean out junk\temp files, this includes your bin, now to edit the system restore size, click on Start - Control Panel - System - System Restore, then move the slider down too 3% or maybe 2%, this will reduce the amount of space the system will use for system restore.
Next lets change the size of the browser settings, click on Tools - Internet Options - Settings, now check the top box, then in the box highlight the number and delete it, now type 20 in there, then save and exit all the way out.

As for drivers, go to the makers site, and download the latest drivers available, they are listed in the above scan which need updating, and that should take care of that part.
See how that goes to start with, then go to the Pit scan and run the test again, and then click on each item in turn, it gives info\suggestions on what needs attention, and on occasions how to do it, go through those and see how you get on, when you feel you've gone as far as your able run the scan again, and post it back here, then I can see whats left that needs attention, and we can go through these when you have done what you can.

Important Note:- I notice you have a few items of protection, I need you to confirm your not breaking the 1 at a time rule, basically you should only ever run 1 firewall, 1 anti virus and 1 anti spyware product that is offering g real time protection at the same time, you can have as many standalone scanners as you like, just remember to disable\exit real time cover of the same type prior to running them, I noticed one care and Malwarebytes as well as Avira, just make sure only Avira is running or you will be breaking the 1 at a time rule.
