am having problems with getting on the internet. I have a a verizon westell router which seems to be working fine ( my other laptop and printers are all working fine), but y pc seems to be not working. the problem started after i installed sp3. when there was no connectivity, i uninstalled sp3 and "limited or no connectivity" is gone, but internet
connection is off.

I am connected throyugh LAN (connected), when i right click on it and go to "status," it says it is connected.

have tried everything..through ipconfig ipconfigflushdns, renew.

WHen I try to ping the router, the request is timed out (4 times)

my tcp/ip protocol is set at "obtain ip address and dns server automatically"

when i do ipconfig /renew, i get this message, " an error occurred while renewing interface local area connection: unable to connect to you dhcp server. Request has timed out."


when i access the router at 192.168.1.1 through my other functional laptop, i can see the nonfunctional computer on the network,, but the status is "unconnected" and the ip address is set at "static"

anyone can help me out?
