Hello! smile.gif
I haven't been able to access the internet since this past weekend. I'm having a bad problem! My pc keeps rebooting right after startup. pullhair.gif I can get in on safe mode but then can't access the internet nor my cd burner. I could copy the HJT log manually and type it in. I ran 2 different scans which were saved in my system and accessible. I found one item. I'm on a friend's pc. I wondered if I could start in safe mode with networking using her pc with mine in order to dl and use another av program? What should I do? Is there a particular section I could type in from the HJT log? There's one particular line which concerned me. My scottie doggie warned me about it but I allowed it because it looked like it was from Microsoft. I will type in the whole log if necessary.

This happened while I was posting problems in another thread:
Slow & some pop-ups, revisited
Thank you!

Hello, Tomk! biggrin.gif
My pc shut down and wouldn't even come on again, so I brought it to my dear computer guy, Ryan. He said that I might have a downloader virus. When he got in there, he found that a bracket had snapped (holding the fan, I believe) and the pc was over heating, then when he got in further, he said he'd get me another system, transfer everything over and I'd have more RAM. I've got one gig now. I haven't spoken to him in detail; someone else picked it up for me, but I'm posting the HJT log so you can see what it said before the crash:

I have to find the download for my scottie doggie. He's missing! Do you have any advise for the new system? I immediately updated Symantec and downloaded the McAfee Site Advisor.

Kathy,

I'm not seeing any malware in your log, but the hardware problem sure could explain your symptoms. I'm glad you're up and running again. yeah.gif

Anything more I can do for you at this point or are you ready for this thread to be closed?
