I have 2 computers hardwired into a router to cable broadband. I am posting this via the unaffected computer.
I first began to have issues about the time it was discovered there was a security issue with Adobe Flash and World of Warcraft players. I did as directed, uninstalled the older Flash and installed the fixed version. This did not correct the problem and when I tried to open my browsers(IE and Firefox), they would pop up blank and act as if they were still loading. When I unistalled Flash and did not reinstall it, my browsers were operational again. I was not using both my computers at that time(no router). Since then I have been unable to install any updates to XP, IE, Messenger, etc. nor to Firefox or McAfee Security Suite(Comcast customer suite). For Windows products they download but do not install. For McAfee, it doesn't do the normal scan and install of updates on the affected computer as it does with this one. I have tried the suggestions posted here: http://forums.whatthetech.com/Before_Posti...elp_t57813.html as well as here: http://forums.whatthetech.com/Help_My_comp...low_t74560.html (my computer isn't slow at all, just do them as regular maintenance) but nothing obvious came up. Rather than do anything else I thought to come here. These are the results of my logs; Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.18 Database version: 871 8:43:27 AM 6/20/2008 mbam-log-6-20-2008 (08-43-27).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 36170 Time elapsed: 5 minute(s), 42 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 8:47:05 AM, on 6/20/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.5730.0013) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTsvcCDA.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Portrait Displays\Shared\DTSRVC.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\HackerWatch\HWAPI.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\MSC\mcmscsvc.exe c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\mcafee\mna\mcnasvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\VIRUSS~1\mcods.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\MSC\mcpromgr.exe c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\mcafee\mcproxy\mcproxy.exe c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\mcafee\redirsvc\redirsvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\VIRUSS~1\mcshield.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\VIRUSS~1\mcsysmon.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\MPF\MPFSrv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\MPS\mps.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NetworkAccessManager\bin32\nSvcAppFlt.exe C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NetworkAccessManager\bin32\nSvcIp.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\ASUS\Ai Suite\AiNap\AiNap.exe C:\Program Files\ASUS\Ai Suite\AiGear3\CpuPowerMonitor.exe C:\WINDOWS\CTHELPER.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\CTXFIHLP.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\LCD Manager\LCDMon.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\G-series Software\LGDCore.exe C:\Program Files\Portrait Displays\Pivot Software\wpctrl.exe C:\Program Files\Acer Display\eDisplay Management\DTHtml.exe C:\Program Files\Creative\MediaSource5\Go\CTCMSGoU.exe C:\Program Files\McAfee\MPS\mpsevh.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CTXFISPI.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Portrait Displays\Shared\HookManager.exe C:\Program Files\Portrait Displays\Pivot Software\floater.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\LCD Manager\Applets\LCDClock.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\LCD Manager\Applets\LCDCountdown.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\LCD Manager\Applets\LCDPop3.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\GamePanel Software\LCD Manager\Applets\LCDMedia.exe c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mcagent.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R1 - Hello MyHedHurtz
Welcome to the Whatthetech Malware Removal Forum Sorry for the delay in responding but with the amount of people posting with infected computers there are not enough hours in the day You basically have a clean log , no malware on it, your Malwarebytes log came up clean also. I have read that there have been some problems with Service Pack 3, whether this effected your system I don't know. You may want to post here as this forum is for removing malware only.
