Yes that's it but it isn't complete. There's nothing in that part that shows anything bad.

Do you have a Windows XP CD?

Click Start> Run> type CMD tap enter

At the Command prompt type in: chkdsk /r
Note the space between the k /r. It needs to be there.

It should tell you check disk will run the next time you reboot.

type in exit tap enter

Reboot and let chkdsk run on startup

Removed IE8, re-booted & it has reverted back to IE7. Problem is still there, taskbar still frozen. removed & re-installed malwarebytes= still the same error message when trying to load up the program.

Please download ad13's win32ksys to your desktop
  • Double click to run it
  • A black window will appear, let this run
  • On completion a log will appear on your desktop called Win32kDiag.txt please post this in your next reply.

Go here to run an online scannner from ESET.
Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
Click Start
When asked, allow the activex control to install
Click Start
Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unticked, and the option Scan unwanted applications is checked
Click Scan
Wait for the scan to finish
Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic.
