My partner bought a Philips HDD120 MP3 player with 3,000 tunes already on it.. He's hardly used it really, as it's not the best thing in the world, and the PC laptop we had was so slow it put you off doing anything on it! Since then I've bought my beloved iMac. Apparently the Phillips HDD isn't compatible with a Mac, there are no instructions or options to put the software on the Mac at all, and the Mac just doesn't recognise it by just plugging it in with the USB. 1. Is there a way to get the Philips HDD talking to the Mac at all, so we can view the tunes on it, sort them etc try and get them onto the hard drive, so that we can bin the Philips and get something mac compatible? 2. I can boot up the prehistoric PC laptop, and try it on there, but it doesn't seem to be recognising the USB device either now (can't remember if it ever di actually). It says USB device not recognised. I can install the software, but it doesn't pick up the HDD when it's plugged in at all. Is there a way to access it, get it to recognise it through the USB, and get the stuff off on the hard drive, then copy them on to the mac library? Thanks in advance folks. |

Looks to me that you have a difficult situation.
Read some of the reviews here: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews82768.html and other sources: http://www.google.com/search?q=Philips+HDD...lient=firefox-a As you must know by now, you aren't the only owner having problems. More than likely, your solution will be through Philips. Though it is possible that some enterprising Mac owner has sorted this out. You might check the Apple Forum - Windows Compatible Technology sub-forum http://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa though my brief browse did not see Philips listed for any products there. Best Regards |
