I have had this problem for years now, but only now did I realize that it was due to my staggering 96% packet loss! (According to pingtest.net) Now, what I experience is a really slow net and many time-outs. I have tried to change my DNS and.... nothing seems to help. Help would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you. |

This is almost sure to be hardware. Bad CAT5 Ethernet cable(s), defective network card/chipset, defective broadband modem or router.
Could also be caused by the wire connecting your home to the local network, either cable or DSL. I'd start by having your ISP run a line test to see what the quality is. |

Sorry for the VERY late responce.
Anyhow, I did that ISP thingy and they said that everything is fine. I am starting to think that might it be something to do with the hardware in the area? I live in a complex of houses that were built about 16 years ago. So, I wonder if that could do it? Perhaps some lines are corroded? Thanks! |
