Several days ago my media center gave me an error code about my PCM Loader. After re-installing TV Center Pro with a PCTV HD Mini Stick on an XP Media Machine, I still get the error that the PMC Loader failed. The only support from Pinnacle told me to un-install and re-install. I downloaded the latest software. (The USB Stick is only a month old) After doing this 3 times (according to Pinnacle) I still get the error message.
Then I was told to download anad run their Reg Delete. (That sounded scary, but did it anyway!) Same thing. Then they had me download and run their Recovery Program. It did not recognize the USB Stick in any of 8 ports. Then I was told to un-install TV Pro Center and Re-install. Did this 3 more times. Same error message and Pinnacle insists that I am not installing the software correctly and told me to go through the same above procedures again. Since I have been working with computers since 1989, I think I have figured out how to install software by now. I have done all the required maintenance today and ran CCleaner, Symantec and Spybot just in case, then Defrag. This machine is a Dell and only 5 months old. I'm off to PC Pitstop as soon as I post this and am going to download and run HiJack This. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi, and welcome to the WTT forums.
Sorry to hear of the problems you are experiencing. You seem to have have carried out all the normal remedies for solving problems of this type, and if the good folks at Pinnacle support have been unable to assist you to get the thing working, the outlook is certainly looking a little bleak...... I see that you are about to download HJT and if you post a log file (not here in this subforum please) then the malware removal experts can check out your system and at least eleminate malware or malicious code as a potential problem. If you need it, here's a link to the instructions on exactly how, and where to post.: http://forums.whatthetech.com/Welcome_New_...ers_t34502.html We will not recommend here, any system changes or alterations to the machine you are having problems with as we do not wish to make the malware removal experts job even more difficult than it is already, but once your machine has been declared "clear" of malware then please post back here in this thread if you are still having issues with it, so that anyone who has either experienced the same or similar problems can post in with a suggested remedy. In the meantime, I assume that you have eliminated any question of faults in the device concerned, by installing it sucessfully on another machine?... If not, then this could be a worthwhile diagnostic procedure to adopt. If you have a suitable test machine then this will be easy.... if not...then maybe a chum can be persuaded to let you install it on one of their machines? Regards paws |

I have the same problem today. The software installed OK, and correctly ID'd my tv channels in one scan.....but never again saw any TV channels.
I have tried to uninstall it (Vista Home Premium) but the uninstall just says it is doing some maintenance and ends in about 15 seconds. The upgrade to 5.04 says to uninstall first.....but I can't uninstall. Might have to roll the whole system back to a recovery checkpoint.....if that will even work....it usually doesn't. *sigh*. I'm sorry I ever wasted my money on the Pinnacle PCTV Nano stick. My systems either aren't fast enough to use it or the software is terminally defective. |

I am having the same problems. Did this happen on your VISTA PC?
I too have tried loading, reloading, deleting and reinstalling. No luck. This product worked for several months for us very well. Not sure what happened. Any further ideas? |

USB memory sticks, aka thumb drives, pendrives, etc. can "wear-out" faster than other media for memory.
It might be wise to place an image of the software onto your hard drive so that you can replay the USB memory if needed. I have no direct experience with the product being discussed and my suggestion is simple a shot-in-the-dark. Best Regards |
