If you have finally made the move to uninstall Norton or Symantec products, you may have found that often times it doesn't want to uninstall properly, or the program is just messed up.

Even if you were able to successfully remove Norton or Symantec through Add/Remove programs, it is a guaranteed FACT that Norton did not completely remove itself! There are still file system drivers and software on your system that were installed by that product and could cause you problems in the future.

So, in instances where you want to be sure that Norton is completely gone. Or, if the uninstall just will not work properly. Symantec has made available to you the best program they have ever created.

The Norton Removal Tool
The Norton Removal Tool is time sensitive, and a new version must be downloaded periodically as the old one will no longer allow you to use it due to it being "expired."

From Symantec's website:
QUOTE
The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2009/2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products, Norton 360 and Norton SystemWorks 12.0 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.

NOTE: Even if the uninstall from add/remove programs was successful, you should follow up with this tool to remove the rest of the remnants left behind!

This tool should be in every technicians toolbelt.
