Hi all,

For at least a week now, I haven't been able to access the bbc website anymore including sub-domains such as news.bbc.co.uk.

I can ping bbc.co.uk with 0%loss yet when I load the webpage with any one of the three browsers I use, it doesn't work. All I get is a blank page. Oddly, since my router is wireless, I can connect to the BBC site from my Nintendo DS via wifi. thumbup.gif

All I get is an instant blank white page when I (try to) load BBC.co.uk
BTW: I use opendns and I use HOST file filtering.

Help appreciated,

Thanks,

That's good.

Unfortunately, I can't say why you were having problems either.

My only other suspect would be malware, or Eset. An uninstall of Eset temporarily may be needed if you have the problem again. That's about the only thing else it could be.

To answer your other question, yes, a firewall can block any kind of network traffic based on a set of programmed rules.
