Hi i hope im posting this in the right forum, windows update wont update microsoft.net framework 3.5 sp1 onto my windows vista laptop, ive tried a few different ways to get it to work and download but nothing happens and it wont download it just gets half way and crashes and says couldnt update one important update..., ive tried downloading the system readiness tool, i also tried this what i found on one forum,

1. Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel,
and then clicking Administrative Tools.

2. Double-click Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or
confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Right-click the Windows Update service, and then click Stop.

4. Click start, then click all programs, then click accessories, then right click command prompt and choose to run as administrator.

Type:
net stop wuauserv then press enter
regsvr32 wuapi.dll then press enter
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll then press enter
regsvr32 wucltux.dll then press enter
regsvr32 wudriver.dll then press enter And this one came up with an error.
regsvr32 wups2.dll then press enter
regsvr32 wups.dll then press enter
regsvr32 wuwebv.dll then press enter
net start wuauserv then press enter
exit then press enter

Restart the system and see if it can update now.

That didnt work either and i tried downloading something called BITS, but that didnt download either... said it didnt need to download it everything was working fine...
I realised i needed to update the service pack when i tried opening a movie making program i just bought...

Any help would be much appreciated,

Thankyou,

Jack
