Good Afternoon,

Earlier this week my PC was infected.

Tremendous assistance was provided by my tech savior JPSHORTSTUFF who patiently walked me through sanitizing my system.

Unfortunately, one nasty side effect of the infection still persists. I am unable to open any MS Office files. Even if I try to launch an MS Office app, a popup appears that seems to be trying to install the program again (as if it is not recognizing that the program is already installed).

jpshortstuff recommended that I post this issue in this forum.

You probably are familiar with and have seen this problem before but I was able to get a screen capture of the popup before installation (or whatever it was doing) continued and I cancelled the process.

I look forward to any assistance that can be provided. Let me thank you in advance for your help.

Mike

Hi Mykl. When I originally saw your post I thought that this might only be a "one time" occurence, but it sounded as if it happened multiple times?

Sometimes Office does that. It will always do that, in my experience, if you install Office 2003 and Office 2007. Everytime you switch between the programs it will do that.
