I am a web application developer by trade. I use java, jsp, mysql, tomcat etc. But I hate to develop applications (using web forms etc). i would like a rapid application development tool that I can use to develop an application and then modify it as needed. kind of like how visual basic used to be.

If it your "trade", then you are surely more conversant than I am.

Perhaps have a look around http://www.apache.org/ to gain some new ideas from your peers.

Best Regards
