Thanks for getting to my issues.
Computer definitely seems to be more responsive. One thing though is just prior to rebooting after completing the items, I received an AVG Virus warning. It mentioned a virus in C:\System Volume Information\_restore. I had received 3 warnings yesterday in the same directory. This mentioned a different virus from the previous three though. Attached is my logfile. Don't worry about the items in C:\System Volume Information\_restore.
We'll take care of that in our cleanup. Run a new MBAM scan. Follow these instructions.
Also "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread. Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment. Please don't attach the scans / logs, use "copy/paste". . |

I am confused... I am supposed to work with Malwarebytes on this issue? What do I tell them now? Yes you need to work with them to solved this issue. It removed a required file. Here is the topic about it. http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=30371 You should just be able to tell them when they reply to your help ticket that MBAM removed atapi.sys. You can also give them a link to your topic here: http://forums.whatthetech.com/Looking_litt...975#entry609975 |

These aren't bad but not needed at startup.
jusched.exe Checks with Sun's Java updates site to see if newer Java versions are available. Visit http://java.sun.com or just run the Java Plug-In Control Panel InstallShield Update Service related; Automatically searches for and performs any updates to the software InstallShield Update Service Scheduler; automatically searches for and performs any updates to the software so you’re always working with the most current version IMEKRMIG.EXE Part of MS Input Method Editor which is used to ease the input of Asian characters in MS Office (Chinese, Japanese and this one is Korean) Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a checkmark/tick in the box on the left side on these: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Dell QuickSet] C:\Program Files\Dell\QuickSet\quickset.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ISUSPM Startup] C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\UPDATE~1\ISUSPM.exe -startup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ISUSScheduler] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe" -start O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Google Desktop Search] "C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe" /startup O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dscactivate] "C:\Program Files\Dell Support Center\gs_agent\custom\dsca.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IMEKRMIG6.1] C:\WINDOWS\ime\imkr6_1\IMEKRMIG.EXE O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [DellSupport] "C:\Program Files\DellSupport\DSAgnt.exe" /startup O4 - Global Startup: QuickBooks Update Agent.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooks\QBUpdate\qbupdate.exe Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked" Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread. Things are looking good here. Odd thing though after I had ran Hijack This and removed those items and rebooted. Internet Explorer came up like 4 times. After another reboot that did not happen.

Here's my usual all clean post
Log looks good
[*]Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperative that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out. [*]Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is succeptible to being hacked and taken over. I am very serious about this and see it happen almost every day with my clients. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. [*]Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates. [*]Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released. [/list] Only run one Anti-Virus and Firewall program. I would suggest you read How to Prevent Malware: |
