ok well i got my ipod out becuase i cant listen to music, as you probably know, and it wont "connect" to my computer..

it just doesnt respond to my computer :S

once in every 1000 times it might work.. but then i download more music and it wont connect.. it hasnt connected for ages now.

hi Lochy,

have you tried any other usb devices to see if they work? check device manager also for any hints of problems.

yes ive tried them all .. i think i could be becuase i have 1.6 usb ports.. or something... . and i need 2.0..

if so, how can i obtain a 2.0 port?

the usb standard is backward compatiable. a compliant 2.0 should work fine with a 1.0 version. have you checked to make sure usb support is enabled in your BIOS?

well, i know their working cuz my mouse is in one.. and ive tried putting the ipod into the port the mouse uses..

your ipod or any other usb device should work fine without 2.0 why a usb mouse works and nothing else does, dont know. there is a troubleshooting guide and much info including a forum dedicated just to usb devices here
