Jenn5,

What IRQ client are you using?
What server are you connecting to? <-- may be none of my business, but if you are connecting to WTT Live, there may be more assistance available from our regular users and mods.

You may want to try connecting to the WTT Chat to see if the problem exists for you there.

Hi Jenn5,

QUOTE
ICQ not IRQ

Oooops. My bad.... TYPO. Sorry.

Since I am not a user of ICQ, I decided to have a look at their support forum to see if your problem (and a reliable solution) appear in their resources.

After reading (10) ten full pages of complaints from ICQ users, I found nothing in response from ICQ staff. sad.gif

Have you updated to ICQ6? (it appears that people are being forced to update to version 6.0 ? )

User complaints during the months of February and March '08 are consistently negative about changes, feature limitations, system failures, bloated add-ons of games/links, and the like related to ICQ6.

Still, I can hardly believe that a few hundred complaints from users actually represents the full universe of ICQ users.
Most users must be having success or else ICQ would be out of business.
However, other people's successful use does not fix your problem.

Possible fixes: ???

An often repeated recommendation for problems with positioning of text in the chat window is:
  • (with ICQ text box open.... press the the shift + ctrl key combination (use the keys on the left of your keyboard) )

An often repeated recommendation (with a bunch of detractors who also say it doesn't help)
  • Uninstall and re-install ICQ version 6

And often repeated recommendation:

Most likely you have already explored the same "support resources" that I've browsed at ICQ.
Doesn't look like much is available to help you. ):

Here's the link for what it's worth:

I'm sorry. I am of no help to you in this matter.
It is "possible" that another ICQ user will come along with a solution that has worked for them.
I hope so.

Best Regards
